Tell us about your current job.

I am in charge of the southern part of Miyagi Prefecture as a sales representative of the Tohoku Branch, and my work includes promoting fertilizer sales to JA, following up with users, and holding study sessions for producers. There are many paddy rice fields in Miyagi Prefecture, so I feel that my university research on paddy rice is coming in handy.

What attracts you to a job in sales at J.M. Agri?

I believe that this is a job where individuals have a lot of discretion, not only in promoting existing fertilizers, but also in designing and testing fertilizers on their own when they are told "this is the kind of fertilizer I want," and having them used. I often work alone, but my supervisors and seniors teach me everything I don't know.

What kind of person would you like to be in the future?

I am currently in charge of a part of a prefecture, so my immediate goal is to be in charge of an entire prefecture. When I consult with my seniors who are in charge of other prefectures, they kindly teach me how to do so. I would like to gain a lot of experience and improve my career, and become a senior who can think from the same perspective as junior staff and answer any questions they may have.

To be honest, I think many people think "sales sounds tough," but I am able to work without worry because there are people who support me. There are many sales training programs, so regardless of whether you have a science or humanities background, you can play an active role, and it is easy to have a good work-life balance. I think this is a company that is both easy to work for and rewarding.
