Isobutyraldehyde condensed urea is a slow-release fertilizer (trade name IB nitrogen) that is a condensation reaction compound of urea and isobutyraldehyde and is mainly decomposed (mineralized) by hydrolysis. It is a white granular compound with a total nitrogen content of 31%, and its solubility in water is about 1/1000 of urea. The dissolution rate can be adjusted according to the size of the granules, and it is used as a raw material for various chemical compound fertilizers, molded fertilizers, and compound fertilizers. The term "IB" fertilizer is a generic term for fertilizers containing isobutyraldehyde condensed urea. It is a slow-release fertilizer that can be used in both paddy and field crop situations.
Super IB" and "Good IB" were developed for use in machine application of IB fertilizers and as raw materials for BB fertilizers. Super IB" (total nitrogen 32%) is made by adding a hardener to isobutyraldehyde condensed urea and granulating it into 2-4 mm granules, while "Good IB" (total nitrogen 33%) is made by adding a hardener and leaching accelerator to isobutyraldehyde condensed urea and granulating it into uniform granules.
